Vigas are round logs that have been hand peeled. Standing dead Spruce vigas are also available. Vigas are a common aspect of Southwestern style buildings and can be used as posts or overhead beams. We get our viga material from local independent loggers using sustainable harvesting practices right here in Northern New Mexico. Peeled vigas are then hand peeled with a drawn knife to give them a bright look and faceted texture. We can also split vigas or taper the tops for you. Vigas with a diameter under 6" are called
