Spotted Owl Timber, Inc. is located in Santa Fe, NM. We are a locally owned sawmill that was founded in 1991 by David Lindsey. David is a third generation sawmill owner and operator. He was born in New Mexico and grew up in the logging and sawmill industry. David opened Spotted Owl in 1991 with a small Woodmizer band mill and cut beams and lumber for the growing demand of southwestern style homes in Santa Fe and around Northern New Mexico.

Since then, Spotted Owl has grown to be a successful and important part of our local community. Thanks to many years of hard work and over 30 years of experience, David Lindsey has expanded the business to include a friendly and helpful team of people, a larger Woodmizer band mill and additional equipment to offer a wider range of products.

Today, Spotted Owl Timber strives to bring high quality wood products to customers while providing excellent customer service. We pride ourselves in using local materials and manufacturing natural custom products to satisfy only the highest of standards. Our materials are sustainably harvested by local independent loggers, and our thin-kerf band mill is more efficient than traditional circle sawmills. The thin-kerf blade produces less waste and allows us to produce as much as 30 percent more lumber from each log. Also, all of our materials are natural and no chemicals are added.
